Thank You, Laura.

"Bon Vivant's Menagerie"

was inspired by a certain
Pretty Boy, with a certain anatomy issue.

At the end of one of those sleepless

weeks during the summer,
I found myself testing the
limits of "Bottomless" coffee at Denny's.
Across the table from me was Pretty Boy.

Pretty Boy with his pretty poetry.
He wanted me to read/comment on his new work -
all I could do was stare, absorb.
Finding actual words to speak to him was impossible.
I was on the plummeting spiral
of a Caffeine high gone wrong.
All I could do was draw him a picture.
A visual emotive response to his
heart breaking psyche, on paper.
His words were severely ... beautiful.
Bon Vivant is the first picture I drew for him,
duplicated/pasted together by the number of times
I read a poem of his.
He was my Bon Vivant,
The Menagerie is mine for him.

Behind the Art

When I get a chance, I will post some
comments about
each of the pieces I have done.
Some are well, self- evident:
"Second pot of Coffee, Second pack of Camels".
